Convention - Elizabethan Banquet

Social Intelligence and Interaction in Animals, Robots and Agents

In the evening of Thursday the 14th, there is an optional excursion to an Elizabethan Banquet in the Old Palace at Hatfield House.

Join King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I and a host of other famous historical characters at the magnificent 15th century surroundings of the Old Palace at Hatfield House.

Sitting in the same Great Hall that Elizabeth I held court, you will be entertained by a selection of medieval characters who will engage AISB'05 delegates with singing, dancing, magic, and duelling. Throughout the evening you will be served a five course banquet and the serving wenches will ensure that your glass is never empty of wine or mead during the meal.

Your evening at the Elizabethan Banquet begins with a warm reception from one of the serving wenches who will show you to your reserved seat in the Great Hall. You may soak up the unique atmosphere or head to the Lower Solar Room bar to purchase an aperitif or two before the banquet commences.

The Elizabethan Banquet is excellent entertainment for all to enjoy. A troupe of professional performers will make sure everyone at the banquet has an evening of fun and hilarity. You may even be invited to the head table to sit beside Henry VIII!

A translation of the history of the Old Palace, together with an explanation of the customs of the court is available in seven languages.

Further information about banquets at the Old Palace is accessible at http://www.theoldpalace.co.uk/
